Main responsibilities
- Implement new features and functionality for new and existing websites
- Execute on programming tasks, including custom WordPress theme development, live site migrations, site maintenance, and emergency fixes
- Possess expert-level WordPress experience; maintain best-in-class development and technical design principles
- Strong development expertise using core tools HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery, and PHP
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Experience using CSS Grid, CSS Flexbox
- Integrate website functions with the third-party software and APIs
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Recommend code and design optimizations to improve the scalability of the applications and maximize performances
- Communicating, collaborating and coordinating work with other members of the team
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Experience working with WordPress, building custom WordPress themes and/or plugins, and configuring content using custom fields
- Experience with cross browser compatibility
- Detail-oriented approach to editing and testing websites for accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
- Experienced at using Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience at using Figma, Framer and Affinity
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in web development
- Strong knowledge of WordPress and experience with a custom theme
- Experience with WooCommerce ecosystem
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript
- Experience in using Elementor website builder and supporting Elementor builders/plugins from the Elementor ecosystem
- Experience with responsive web design
- Understanding of web standards and best practices
- Experience with SEO optimization and structures
- Understanding of the WP library and other common practices
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git)
- Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology, Continuous Integration, and Unit test
- Willingness to learn new technologies
